Home for 3 years.. no church is perfect because it's full of imperfect people in need of a perfect saviour!! My family and I were welcomed in with no judgement and supported in our new faith. I encounter God's presence every time I attend. Through Evening College I have grown in my understanding of the Word and God Himself. Through volunteering I have learnt so many skills and grown in relationship with incredible people who are chasing after God super grateful for Hillsong Newcastle.

Friendly and welcoming church which interests the entire family. Music is modern and motivating. Varied and interesting preachers.

Amazing inviting community with awesome atmosphere, music and messages!

This review is based on two years of regular church going and with every star or no star, I'll give my reasons for based on honest experiences...One star for the music, atmosphere and sound. This is a church for the senses that never allows for a moment of boredom... Another star for the preaching and guest preachers as they do have a very fresh take on faith and life while entertaining... No star for the guilt-tripping financial giving sermon that is given every.single.service. You can go to the toilet, wash your hands for 10 Mississippi's and it will be still going when you come back in "to give your best so God can give you the best"... No star for the smiling facade of usually very over-volunteered helpers who are not volunteering to help you but help the church. They will do what the church wants and not what you need as a member even if it is just someone to just listen and be there... No star for the lack of care for the needy. Hillsong follows a business model that looks and sounds great on the outside but the internal fundamental structure is only giving to very few, select groups. For a church founded by a peadophile, they do very little to help the abused, terminally diagnosed or mentally ill. It's not how you can be helped, it's what can you do for this Hillsong church... And if you burn out or are over worked from over-volunteering and leave, chances are no-one will even care to realise that you've left (as I've found out). Great church for when life is good, awful church when life throws you a curveball that takes more than just a few meals and a card to get over.

Initially I was excited to check out Hillsong church only to be dashed by church members who are not even interested to welcoming visitors to the site. After wondering around in the lobby trying to figure my way around, I had to resort to 'I am new, where do I go'. It left me tasteless where a church is not even interested in building new relationships but they stay within their cliques. It was truly a social club and not a church.
