Great guided tour of tunnels and surrounds with Norm. A gentleman of 91 years young. Very informative commentary.
Volunteers do a great job here. They are very knowledgeable. The 600m tunnel tour was great. Not many things to buy from the souvenir, but they are not too pricy. Entrance fee was $32 for family of four. I think its a reasonable amount considering what you get to see. Decent number of onsite parking, also 3P parking on roadside. Great view of Nobbys head light house. I would go another time. Its a nice place to take any visitors, can get a glimpse of History of New Castle.
Awesome place to visit if you are looking for something to do in Newcastle. Tour guide Ian was excellent and told very interesting stories about thevhistory of the fort and weapons
Nice location to see a historic fort and surrounding beach views. From online posts, they seem to do canon firing in the past but may only do that on special occasions now. Free entry and can take photos. Guided tours have an additional cost. Parking at the site is free for 3 hours.
Great historical sites in the middle of the city. Amazing views, a great spot to explore or just have a picnic soaking up the views. They offer tours of the tunnels and fire the cannon everyday at 1pm. Originally built in 19th century, the only place in Australia to fire land to sea in anger in a war (during WW2)
