This little gem is the perfect stop over to break up a long drive. It has fun activities that suit all ages and a great soft gym play area too. Oh and it's free!Plenty of street parking nearby, clean toilets, bubblers for fresh water, and a cafe.
Staff were great and for a free museum it was awesome. Lots of great "hands on" activities for kids of all ages.It was an unexpectedly hot on the day of our visit and they even had free bottled water. Would highly recommended visiting.
Interesting museum of local history. Exhibition spaces could be a little better organised to tell a story that was compelling to follow. Nice cafe.
A must see whether you're visiting or already living in Newcastle. The BHP exhibition is fantastic and rich with the history of this once giant industry. Kids will have lots of fun in the science area with dozens of interactive displays and experiments.
Situated just off the Newcastle harbour walk this attraction is free and highly recommended. The layout is really well done and offered (at the time we visited) 4 seperate sections ranging from a Newcastle specific history and heritage exhibit to a hands on science exhibit with plenty for the kids to do and play with. The place was extremely clean also with on site amenities.
