Lovely, historic setting & views over Newcastle Railway Station, inviting outdoor area. Parking is challenging for a first-timer on a big Friday evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff were kind and friendly. The upstairs function area is semi- open plan, which is cosier and more appealing than having just one huge open space. My only regret was the lack of lighting around the band, so the pictures of them playing weren't great.

It was my second time at Customs House Hotel and it was great. Last time I visited was over Easter in 2018 and we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the live music with a mixed crowd of families and young professionals.The courtyard has a smoking area for those who like to have a smoko with their bevvy.I haven't eaten here yet so I can't comment on the food but the setting is quite beautiful and I would not hesitate to book a table for a dinner date!
Had dinner with friends last night and was amazed how good the food was. Went with friends and everyone's meal was superb. Best steak in Newcastle.
